Visiting British Prime Minister Gordon Brown is expected to announce another $60 million in aid for the Palestinian Authority (PA) during his two-day visit to Israel, Ramallah and Bethlehem Sunday and Monday. Britain was one of the participating countries in a recent investors' conference in Bethlehem, where private investors pledged $1.4 billion for PA businesses. Prime Minister Brown will travel to Bethlehem on Sunday, where he also plans to attend church services although most of the Christian community has fled the area amid growing Muslim attacks them.

He will be the first British Prime Minister to address the Knesset. He took over leadership of the British government last year after the resignation of Tony Blair, who now is the Middle East envoy for the Quartet (United Nations, United States, Russia and the European Union).
