British Prime Minister Gordon Brown is set to meet with Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas during his two-day visit to the region which began Saturday night, his first as prime minister.

Brown's spokesman announced his intention to "discuss the way forward in the peace process" and to focus most of his efforts on discussing economic development in the Palestinian Authority. The British leader plans to spend much of the day with PA officials and will visit the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem. On Monday he will address the Knesset.
