Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni visited the grieving family of Eldad Regev Friday and explained that "Israeliness" made the ransom deal with Hizbullah necessary.
She told the family: "The price that was paid for bringing the sons back was one we could stand to pay. As far as 'Israeliness' is concerned it was important to bring them home and close a chapter."
Regev was one of the two IDF reservists whose remains were returned by Hizbullah this week. Former Defense Minister Amir Peretz visited the family early Friday morning.
