Bnei Menashe Produce CD: "Aliyah, Aliyah" Reported: 09:47 AM - Jul/18/08
(IsraelNN.com) A new CD with songs by Bnei Menashe singers in India will be distributed free among Bnei Menashe living in Israel and in India. The CD, named "Aliyah, Aliyah" is the first of its kind, containing 15 original songs performed by singers belonging to the Bnei Menashe of northeast India. The songs combine authentic rhythms with ancient Jewish music. Michael Freund, Chairman of “Shavei Israel”, who produced the CD, said: "The songs on this wonderful disc express in a very moving way the longing of the Bnei Menashe to return to the Jewish people and to make Aliyah to Israel. Shavei Israel will do everything possible to bring that dream to fruition." The Bnei Menashe claim descent from a Lost Tribe of Israel, and in March 2005, Israel's Sephardic Chief Rabbi Shlomo Amar recognized the Bnei Menashe as "descendants of the Jewish people". ![]() Check out the Chill Zone - Funny, Entertaining Videos © IsraelNN Syndications - This article may not be republished freely.
