Prosecutors and attorneys for Prime Minister Ehud Olmert have clashed in the media over their interpretations of the results of the first of approximately five days of cross-examination of American businessman Morris Talansky. Thursday's testimony did not involve whether the Prime Minister received cash which he has admitted, but dealt with details of how and when Talansky transferred the money.
Lawyers claimed that Talansky contradicted himself on details and charged that he and the police have collaborated on what to say. Prosecutors countered that the testimony was a waste of the court's time and offered no significant information that helps Prime Minister Olmert.
