Brother of fallen IDF Master Sergeant Eldad Regev, Ofer Regev noted the cruel dichotomy between the IDF and Israel’s enemies. “We thought our enemies were like us.. human beings, who only want to love, to smell a flower, but our enemies are a cruel mirror image, the opposite of our own humanity..”
Ofer’s words expressed his pride in the efforts to return his fallen brother home. ”I am proud of our country who fought for you, I am proud that the IDF commanders would not give up until you came home, and I am proud of all the citizens who felt they were your brother just like me.”
Ofer recalled that his brother had, before returning to reserve duty, given him a CD, and specifically said:”check out song 11…it’s worthwhile.” The song was entitled:”I have a brother.”
