IDF Chief of Staff Gabi Ashkenazi wrote in a letter to IDF soldiers Wednesday: "Let every soldier who is sent to battle and let every mother in Israel know that her sons' fate, even if they are taken captive, will be in the hands of commanders who will never give up on the chance to free them."
He added: "Out of that same commitment, my heart is filled with hope that we will succeed in bringing back, in the not-distant future, the rest of the IDF's prisoners of war and MIAs. The IDF and the state of Israel will leave no stone unturned until the MIAs are located and their families receive word."
