Britain Bans Hizbullah

British lawmakers outlawed support for Hizbullah's military wing, due to the organization's support for terrorism in Iraq, the Palestinian Authority and amongst Israeli Arabs.

Britain's anti-terrorism liaison Tony McNulty said the move followed Hizbullah's "active support" for Shiite rebels in Iraq, but specified that the organization's so-called "social and political work" in England would be unaffected by the ban.

The measure is expected to take effect when the House of Lords votes on it later this week.
