(IsraelNN.com) Labor Knesset Member Prof. Avishai Braverman has lost his bid to head the Knesset Finance Committee. The legislature's House Committee rejected the coalition motion to put him in the post. Shas has objected because of concerns that he will oppose subsidies for large families.

Shas MK Yaakov Margi (Shas) criticized the government for trying to reward the Labor party instead of reprimanding it for its conduct. Labor recently backed off from a promise to dissolve the Knesset after Kadima promised to hold leadership primaries in September.
