Gov't Calls Terrorists 'Illegal Lebanese Fighters'

The Israel Prisons Service issued a statement Monday afternoon stating that Israel will release "four illegal Lebanese fighters" on Wednesday, along with Lebanese terrorist Samir Kuntar, whose infiltration and attack in 1979 was not mentioned. The four "fighters" were captured by the IDF during the Second Lebanon War against Hizbullah. The Lebanese army was not actively involved in the war.

The Prisons Service also stated that the government approved the agreement "by which the kidnapped soldiers Ehud Goldwasser and Eldad Regev will be returned to Israel." Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and other government officials have said that the soldiers are dead.
