The Hizbullah report to Israel on the fate of navigator Ron Arad includes a report from sources stating that he died during an escape attempt 17 months after his plane was downed in Lebanon and he was imprisoned by Hizbullah terrorists, Yeshiva World News reported. The terrorist organization has claimed it has no proof that he is dead or alive.
Israeli intelligence officials are reviewing the Hizbullah report. Arad's daughter Yuval has appealed to the government to not declare her father dead without any substantiating information. Arad's wife currently is forbidden to re-marry, by Jewish law, since there is no certain proof that her husband is dead. A government declaration would not suffice.
Jewish law does not let her enter into a second marriage until the first has been ended definitely, whether by the definite death of her husband, or by his granting her a proper deed of divorce.
