Tehran would target central Israel and 32 U.S. bases in the Middle East if it were attacked, according to an Iranian government official. The Fars News Agency reported that Mojtaba Zolnoor, the representative of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khomeini to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps, declared: "In case the United States and Israel dare to shoot a bullet, Iran will target the heart of Israel and 32 U.S. bases in the region imminently…Now the Iranian armed forces, including the Revolutionary Guards, enjoy the full preparation against any threat from the enemy." Zolnoor allegedly made the statement while visiting a Revolutionary Guard unit in the Iranian city of Mashhad.
