MK Aryeh Eldad (NU/NRP) said that he remained unconvinced despite Infrastructures Minister Binyamin Ben-Eliezer's explanations in the Knesset Wednesday regarding the gas deal with British Gas.

"My mind is not quiet and my soul is not quiet [regarding the gas deal]… and it appears that Israel's institutions of justice are not yet quiet either," Eldad said. "The British Gas deal is apparently one of the most corrupt in the state's history and I am glad the State Comptroller is investigating it."

Ariel Sharon had opposed the deal with British Gas because of concern that the profits would reach terrorists.
