Oil Price Hikes Force El Al To Shut Down Miami Route

(IsraelNN.com) El Al Airlines has announced it is shutting down its direct flights to Miami because of rising fuel prices. The sharp rise in the price of crude oil "requires us to re-examine the economic worthwhileness [sic] of every single flight," El Al chief executive Chain Romano said in a statement.
He added that another factor is the size of the market. El Al plans to increase passenger traffic by maintaining direct flights to New York, Los Angeles and Toronto.
