Likud Knesset Member Gilad Erdan has asked the government to advance a bill approved on first reading Wednesday that would prohibit public mourning of terrorists. The family of the bulldozer attack that killed three people in Jerusalem already has erected a tent to mourn the murderer, whose sister-in-law said is a "shahid" (martyr).
The public mourning for the murder of Merkaz HaRav yeshiva students last March sparked intense anger. Nationalist activists marched on the neighborhood of the terrorist, sparking rock-throwing battles.
