Israel has demanded that the United Nations condemn Wednesday's bulldozer terror attack in Jerusalem that left three people dead and four dozen wounded. "The timing of this brutal terrorist attack, amidst continued negotiations with the Palestinian Authority, underscores the extent that the extremists will go to murder and maim Israeli civilians and destroy all efforts to secure peace and stability in the region," Deputy Ambassador Daniel Carmon wrote the U.N.
The letter noted that Wednesday's attack was the second this year in the capital and occurred a short distance away from the Merkaz HaRav yeshiva, where an eastern Jerusalem Arab murdered eight young people.
Carmon reminded Security Council President H.E. Mr. Le Luong Minh that following the attack on the yeshiva, the U.N. "could not reach consensus and condemn that unquestionable act of terrorism."
