Tel Aviv Hilton to Use Seawater for Cooling
The Tel Aviv Hilton has decided it will use seawater to cool its air conditioning system. The proposed changes will save fresh water and lower the luxury hotel's electricity consumption by 10 percent (saving more than NIS 1 million a year). The Hilton hired a drilling company to dig a 120-meter well in the hotel courtyard to obtain the seawater, which will be sent via pipes to the eco-friendly air conditioning system.The hotel’s current air conditioning system is more than forty years old according to reports.
