The giant microchip manufacturer Intel is to dedicate its new factory in Kiryat Gat Tuesday, but a chip developer said the computer industry cannot make the chips much smaller anymore. "We are approaching atomic dimensions… [and] 5 or 10 nanometers is as small as we can get," chip developer Marcian "Ted" Hoff told Cnet.com.

Prime Minister Ehud Olmert is scheduled to attend the dedication ceremony. The government granted hundreds of millions of dollars in incentives to build the Kiryat Gat facility. Intel also built a training center at the Islamic University, affiliated with Hamas, in Gaza City.
