(IsraelNN.com) In the Ziv Hospital in the northern city of Tsfat, two soldiers and two youths have been admitted for snake bites. Original reports indicated that their status was critical, but their condition has since improved due to treatment at the scene and in the hospital.

Israel is home to over 41 different species of snakes from seven different families. Only eight of the species are poisonous and dangerous to man.  They range all over Israel, from Mount Hermon to the Negev.
