Egyptian police shot and killed two migrants, including a seven year old girl, as they tried to cross the border into Israel yesterday. Speaking anonymously, Israelis security sources said Egyptian police at the Rafiah crossing shot the two migrants and detained seven others trying to cross into Israel at the southern end of Gaza.

A total of sixteen migrants trying to cross the Israel-Egyptian border have been killed this year. Since June, Egypt has taken a hard line policy against migrants trying to cross the Sinai Peninsula and enter Israel.
