Four black teenagers are being held in New York on hate crime charges, after being arrested for stoning a school bus full of Jewish children. Police said that the four black teens – three girls and a boy – shouted anti-Jewish hate slogans and broke windows on the bus as it drove through the Crown Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn last month.

This is just the latest of an upsurge of anti-Semitic activity against Jews in Crown Heights in recent months, with attacks on Jews becoming an almost daily occurrence in recent months, local residents say. Crown Heights is home to some 150,000 black residents, and 15,000 Jews, mostly Chabad Chassidim.
