Most Arab nations are beginning to crack down on Al Qaeda and other terrorist organizations' money laundering operations, according to Strategypage.com. It reported that money laundering was an "untouchable area" until recently.
One reason for the change in policy is the understanding that "it is no longer fashionable to rejoice whenever an Islamic terrorist bomb goes off in the West, or anywhere else for that matter," the web site stated. "Public opinion wants these butchers shut down."
