(IsraelNN.com) National Union Knesset Member Uri Ariel has appealed to the Defense Ministry to probe charges that IDF recruiters are putting pressure on religious girls to enlist. The weekly national religious newspaper B'Sheva reported Thursday that one girl said IDF personnel told her, "So what if you are religious? Why don’t you serve in the army" instead of fulfilling her duties through National Service.

MK Ariel wrote Deputy Defense Minister Matan Vilnai that "in most cases, there is no great benefit from girls' serving in the IDF."
