Mubarak, Olmert End Talks

Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and Prime Minister Ehud Olmert concluded their talks in Sharm el-Sheikh several minutes ago. The issues of kidnapped IDF soldier Gilad Shalit and the five-day old temporary Gaza ceasefire were the focus of the discussion.

The Arabic language Al Jazeera network reported that Israel could have freed Shalit months ago if it had agreed to release Arab terrorists who are slated to be freed in the developing proposal to bring the soldier back home. Wednesday marked the second year since he was kidnapped in a raid at a Gaza crossing that resulted in the deaths of two other army soldiers.
