Islamic Jihad terrorist leaders have threatened to break the five-day-old ceasefire because of the IDF counterterrorist action early Tuesday morning that killed two terrorists near Shechem. Gaza terrorist groups previously said they were unilaterally extending the Gaza truce to include Judea and Samaria and would consider IDF actions there a violation.
The Bethlehem-based Maan news agency reported that one of the terrorists was an Islamic Jihad student at An-Najah University. The other terrorist was identified as a prominent leader of the Hamas Al Quds Brigades.
The PA claimed they were unarmed and that one was shot while in bed, but the IDF said they were shot when resisting arrest and that at least one was planning an attack on Israel. Soldiers recovered ammunition, explosives and a rifle.
