The head of IDF Military Intelligence, Maj. Gen. Amos Yadlin, noted in his weekly briefing to the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee yesterday that economic pressures were key in forcing the Hamas terrorist organization to accept the Egyptian-mediated cease-fire agreement in Gaza last week.
Hamas has not, according to Yadlin “neglected the way of terror…but rather put it aside” in favor of a period of recuperation. The group will meanwhile continue to acquire new weapons and train its military units during the cease-fire, he said
