Diesel Tax To Fuel Traffic Jam in Tel Aviv

Thousands of buses, trucks and taxicabs are expected to participate in a massive protest Thursday afternoon in the Tel Aviv area against higher taxes on diesel fuel. Motorists are advised that massive traffic jams are expected.

Protesting drivers will be arriving form all parts of the country, including 900 taxis from Eilat. Protest organizer Gabi Ben-Harush said truck drivers will stop loading at ports and quarries at 3 p.m. in order to allow the vehicles to reach Tel Aviv.
