Head of the Defense Ministry’s Political-Military Bureau Maj. Gen. (Reserves) Amos Gilad, an influential figure in securing the proposed ceasefire, said this morning that the real test will be in the execution of the plan. Gilad also stated that the IDF has not completed its preparations for a large-scale operation in Gaza. In an interview with Kol Yisrael radio he said that the only option to free captured IDF soldier GIlad Shalit currently is to “give the Egyptians a chance.”

As to the question of whether or not the Hamas terrorists will continue their arms buildup using tunnels coming from Egypt, Gilad said,” We have no negotiations with the Hamas; We talk with the Egyptians."
