The Israel Air Force strike earlier this afternoon in Dir el-Balah targeted a Jeep in which terrorists from the head of the Army of Islam were sitting. The Army of Islam is one of the terror groups that were involved in the cross border raid that kidnapped IDF Corporal Gilad Shalit.
According to at least one report the commander of the group was also in the vehicle. At least two terrorists were wounded in the strike. There are reports that one of the terrorists died of his wounds.
At least five terrorists from the Islamic Jihad were killed in an earlier air strike in Khan Younis, in southern Gaza.
