Defense Minister Ehud Barak said Friday that the Kadima primaries were preventing the government from deciding on a lull in Gaza.
"In the end there will be a operation in Gaza, but a responsible leadership must give a chance to a lull," he said. "If this government were not operating under the shadow of the primaries in Kadima," he said, "a decision on a lull would have been reached a long time ago."
Barak was speaking to Labor party activists in Tel Aviv.
