Maj. -Gen. Amos Gilad (reserves), the head of the Ministry of Defense’s Political-Military Bureau, is expected to leave today for Egypt in order to facilitate Egyptian cooperation in ensuring calm in the terrorist-controlled Gaza Strip. 

He will meet with Gen. Omar Suleiman, head of Egyptian Intelligence, and is expected to focus on several issues, especially the return of kidnapped IDF soldier Gilad Shalit and to increase Egyptian efforts to counter weapons smuggling into Gaza.
