Dozens of Israelis Trapped in Conakry

(IsraelNN.com) Dozens of Israeli citizens are trapped in Guinea’s capital city of Conakry due to violent riots, IDF radio reported Friday morning. The riots were set off by soldiers furious at the government’s failure to pay their salaries.

The Israelis in Guinea are mostly employees for firms specializing in infrastructure and telecommunications projects. They are in touch with the Foreign Ministry, which is attempting to determine a safe escape route that would allow them to leave the country.
