    MK Shalom: Livni Should Quit

MK Silvan Shalom (Likud) said Thursday that Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni should resign. “It’s hard to give up the Foreign Ministry, but when talking about conscience and values, one must give up their personal position,” he said. Earlier in the day Livni called for primary elections in the Kadima party, saying investigations into Prime Minister Ehud Olmert had lead to “questions pertaining to values.”

Shalom said the push for primaries within the Kadima party was an attempt to protect the party from general elections. “Kadima is trying to buy time, to set a date for primary elections, in order to prevent Labor from supporting general elections,” he said.
