Four countries last year stopped Syria from receiving equipment intended for testing ballistic missile components, United States security advisor Stephen Hadley said Wednesday. Hadley was speaking to members of countries trying to stop transfer of mass destruction weapons when he revealed that four of the countries cooperated to intercept the shipment.
"Interdictions like this one have been successful all over the world and have stopped many shipments of sensitive materials destined for Iran, North Korea, and Syria," he said. Acting American Undersecretary of State John Rood stated earlier this week that there have been dozens of interdictions, including preventing the export of dual-use missile-related technologies as well as nuclear-related items to Iran.
