Israeli billionaire investor Lev Levayev is fighting a demand by Ramat Gan, adjacent to Tel Aviv, that he open a parking lot on the Sabbath. The lot is part of his 17-story Africa Israel building, and Ramat Gan officials argue that a deal was reached that would allow a limited number of spaces to be used by neighborhood residents during certain hours, including the Sabbath.
Levayev, who is orthodox, does not want to be associated with a move that would promote violating the Sabbath, according to Yeshiva World News.
