(IsraelNN.com) Muslim terrorists may be recruiting mentally disturbed people to form a homegrown suicide squad, according to intelligence sources quoted by the Times of London. Police and intelligence officials noted that one person arrested several days ago for a nail-bomb attack suffers from mental health problems and was recruited by Al Qaeda. The bomb exploded in a lavatory, and the bomber suffered several cuts.

"It is a grotesque concept but they are using people who are clearly mentally subnormal," an official told the Times. "We know they have clever radicalisers [sic] who will take advantage of anyone they think they can manipulate, whether they have an IQ of 60 or 140."

Al Qaeda leaders apparently are importing the tactic from Iraq, where there have been several terrorist attacks carried out by people with mental or physical disabilities.
