Likud MK Sa'ar: No Limit to Olmert's Cynicism

Likud caucus chairman Knesset Member Gideon Sa'ar charged that "there is no limit to the cynicism" of Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and that he is playing around with the security of the country by agreeing to indirect talks with Syria. He called on the Shas party to quit the coalition.

MK Gilad Erdan (Likud) said the Prime Minister "is prepared to sell everything" in order to protect himself in the latest criminal probe against him for receiving tens of thousands of dollars in cash from American businessmen. Likud MK Yisrael Katz, who is active in the campaign to save the Golan Heights, stated there is a clear majority in the Knesset against surrendering the Golan Heights. MK Nissan Slomiansky (National Union) asserted that the Prime Minister's statement proves that the criminal probe is reaching a critical stage.

Labor party MK Eitan Cabel backed talks with Syria, but Labor MK Danny Yatom attacked the Prime Minister for conducting a political spin.
