(IsraelNN.com) Tennessee Congressman Steve Cohen, the state's first Jewish legislator in Congress, is in the lead against a primaries election opponent whose backers have distributed "Jews hate Jesus" flyers. Polls show he is leading in the campaign in which he is challenged by black candidate Nikki Tinner.

Reverend George Brooks Jr. circulated fliers stating, "Memphis Congressman Steve Cohen and the Jews Hate Jesus." He urged voters to back "a black Christian." Relatives of the preacher personally apologized to Congressman Cohen, according to the New York Jewish Forward.
