Egyptian intelligence chief Omar Suleiman delivered the news to Hamas terror leaders in Cairo on Tuesday that Israel has agreed to the terms of a ceasefire agreement.

"The leaders of Israel expressed their support for the Egyptian proposal for the truce in Gaza," said a senior Egyptian official who told news agencies that Jerusalem had agreed to the tahadiyeh, or "calm", in principle.

There was no comment from Israeli officials.
