Israeli Arab Knesset Member, Hadash Chairman Mohammed Barakeh was questioned by investigators from the International Crimes Unit Tuesday afternoon on suspicion of assault after ducking the issue for more than a year.
Barakeh reported to the Russian Compound in Jerusalem only after Knesset Speaker Dalia Itzik finally intervened in the case, according to Ynet. The questioning focused on two incidents at two separate demonstrations against the Second Lebanon War in 2006, one in which a civilian was assaulted and the other in which a police officer was attacked.
