(IsraelNN.com) Top national and local government officials will gather in Eilat on Wednesday and Thursday to attend the fourth annual conference addressing the issue of violence in Israeli society -- and ways to prevent it. More than a thousand lawmakers, mayors, ministers, social workers, police officials and other professionals are expected to attend.

A centerpiece of the gathering will be the City of Non-Violence project, now in its fourth year in the Red Sea city and which has since been replicated in 12 other communities as well.  Government ministers expected to attend the conference include Public Minister Avi Dichter, Welfare and Social Services Minister Yitzchak Herzog and Immigration and Absorption Minister Yaakov Edry.
