Reported: 17:06 PM - May/19/08

(IsraelNN.com) Judges in Denmark have been forbidden to war Jewish skullcaps (kippot), Muslim turbans and Christian crosses under a new order from Justice Minister Lene Esperson. She told reporters that she ordered the ban because a judge must be neutral and impartial, according to the French news agency AFP. Her ruling is subject to parliamentary approval, which is expected.

A far-right political party in Denmark launched a campaign last month to protest last December's authorization in principle for Muslim justices to wear headscarves, although there currently are no Muslim judges in Denmark.
