A Gaza-based terrorist arrested by intelligence and army personnel and who trained in Iran was involved in a one-month course before returning to Gaza, IDF spokesmen revealed. The arrest of Ala Abu Madif was released for publication on Monday.
He was a former Fatah terrorist and joined the Abu Rish gang in Gaza, whose leaders are in contact with terrorist leaders in Lebanon, the IDF stated. Their main activities include high-trajectory rocket firing and laying anti-personnel explosive devices. He reached Iran after reaching Egypt and traveling to Syria. He and other terrorists trained in a mountainous region in Iran, concentrating on navigation and operation of explosive devices.
"Abu Madif's interrogation throws light on the deep Iranian involvement in the encouragement of terror against Israel and in its support," the IDF said.
