Security forces of Palestinian Authority (PA) chairman Mahmoud Abbas have arrested a senior Islamic terrorist in the area of Jenin, according to an anonymous source quoted by Reuters News Agency. The terrorist was identified as Abdel Fatah Khuzainah. The IDF also reported it arrested an Islamic Jihad terrorist overnight. He was identified as Amar Salah Abu Alon. The army has not confirmed the PA claim.

The reported arrest came several days after American-trained and armed policemen began to deploy throughout Jenin. However, their principal duties relate to traffic and local thefts, and they do not function at night.
