Forty percent of Jewish families who were forced out of the Gaza region by the government almost three years ago still are waiting for lots where they can build permanent homes, according to the Disengagement Authority (Sela). Most of the families involved still have to wait up to nine months before they can build because of the lack of infrastructure.

Several months after the expulsion, with the expellees suffering from unemployment and the lack of adequate temporary housing, Sela embarked on a publicity campaign promising a solution to every family. Several expulsion victims plan to stage a protest Monday afternoon outside the Knesset to protest government inaction.
