Likud Knesset Member Limor Livnat, formerly the Likud Education Minister, wants the Knesset to declare that Hebrew is the only principal language in Israel. She explained that Arabic, Russian and English would be declared as secondary languages.
MK Livnat told Voice of Israel government radio that extreme pro-Arab groups are trying to create equality between the Arabic and Hebrew languages, along with making the right of return applicable to Arabs as well as Jews.
