"If I get a green light from Ehud Barak I could set the hour for the start of the ceasefire tomorrow," Egyptian Intelligence Minister Omar Suleiman told MK Yossi Beilin Sunday. The two met at the Sharm El-Sheikh world economic summit.
Suleiman reportedly told Beilin that "the ball is now in Israel's court," as Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni and Defense Minister Ehud Barak prepared to meet with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak.
According to Ynet, Suleiman said that if Israel agreed to the list of prisoners Hamas wants it to free, IDF Cpl. Gilad Shalit could be included in the ceasefire deal. "However, since Israel rejects most of the names, there will have to be a negotiating process that will begin as soon as the ceasefire does," the Egyptian explained.
