(IsraelNN.com) MK Yuval Steinitz (Likud) Sunday dismissed the polls which deem to show that Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni poses a serious alternative to Binyamin Netanyahu and called them "utter hogwash." The media, he said, want to build up Tzipi Livni, but she has no real accomplishments in her record.

At least one recent poll showed Livni defeating Netanyahu if she led Kadima and if elections were held today. 

Four Kadima MKs met Friday in what some analysts said could lead to a pro-Livni faction within Kadima. According to one of the MKs, the meeting was intended to decide who can best lead Kadima if Olmert loses his current position. "If we discover that Tzipi Livni can preserve Kadima as a large party we shall have to look at the possibility of supporting her," he said.
