Shmuel Rifman, head of the Ramat Hovev Regional Council, said Sunday that “the writing was on the wall” prior to a fatal traffic accident on Saturday night. A 58-year-old Israeli man was killed overnight when his car collided with a camel. The camel was wandering along Highway 40 in the dark.
Rifman called on police to “act with determination to collect wandering camels and harshly punish their owners.” The regional council is doing its part to collect wandering camels, council workers said.
