Government officials are considering several public figures as possible replacements for Ambassador to the United Nations Dan Gillerman. According to Maariv, among those being considered is journalist Ilana Dayan, host of Channel 2’s popular program Uvda.
Others being considered for the post are former General Security Services (Shabak) head Yaakov Peri and Housing Minister Zeev Boim. A fourth candidate is reportedly Nachman Shai, who has served in a number of public positions, among them IDF spokesman and Director-General of the Ministry of Culture and Sports.
